Caixa Forum, the first Barcelona museum to reopen after pandemic
Some 350 pre-book tickets to visit the first cultural exhibition to return amid Covid-19.
Visitors returned to the Caixa Forum once again on Monday, as the cultural exhibition center became the first in the Catalan capital to reopen its doors after the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The exhibitions 'Objects of Desire’ and ‘Surrealism and Design, 1924-2020’ were top of the list for the some 350 visitors who had pre-booked their tickets.
Caixa Forum, along with all other museums in Barcelona, has been shut for the last two-and-a-half months as the coronavirus crisis halted the country.
The deputy general manager of the La Caixa Foundation, Elisa Durán, emphasized that the reopening was highly anticipated, and that they had a lot of work to reschedule exhibitions and establish security measures.
Despite these complications, the limited capacity has not been a headache.
"The main room has a capacity of 395 people, and now 130 can enter,” Durán explained. “For us, it is already very considerable because we want to ensure comfort."
